Life goes on... and on... and on!

It is now June 2010 and I have not updated my lame little blog in quite some time!

We were happy to buy a beautiful new home in April and are still getting settled. We haven't done the painting, etc. that we wanted to quite yet, but it will happen eventually.
Now that we are owning our home instead of renting we were able to get a pet. The plan at first was to get a small dog, but after Tim researched breeds decided that he wanted to get another oriental shorthair cat, like the one we owned when we were first married. We were surprised and happy to find one breeder in all of Utah who breeds these rare cats. She had two pregnant cats when Tim contacted her, and we were 9th on her list to reserve a kitten. Unfortunately one of the cats lost her entire litter, and there were (I think) 6 kittens born to one cat. One male of the litter is a beautiful chocolate spotted tabby and show cat quality! We asked for pet quality, but the breeder was so touched by our story of our first oriental shorthair that she offered him to us with the promise that we would show him in cat shows. We decided this would be a great experience opportunity for Veronica, to show the cat herself. We also learned that because these are such social cats they are happier if there is another pet in the home for companionship. Since the breeder also had some traditional Saimese kittens we decided to get one of those too.
We brought our blue point Siamese kitten home 3 weeks ago and named her Yuki. She's adorable! The oriental shorthair that we are getting wasn't ready yet when we picked up Yuki, and now she has some type of cold... I took her to the vet yesterday and she is now on antibiotics, so it's best that we don't pick up the boy, we're naming him Gyatso, until she gets better. And because he is show cat quality he is a lot more expensive, so that's causing a bit of crunch to our budget. But I can't wait to bring little Gyatso home! He's so cute and I think he and Yuki will have so much fun together, not to mention the fun it will be to watch them grow up together.

I'll now post some pictures as a meager attempt to fill in the large gap of un-blogged time that has passed.
