Spring into Summer

This year I've enjoyed watching the baby sparrows grow in the nest on our front porch. I wached as they learned to fly, and one that stood at the edge of the nest squaking at the others, too afraid to fly...
On Saturday I was having a yard sale (all that work for $37! Not sure I want to do that again) and as I was cleaning up, Veronica saw a little injured bird in the street. It looked like one of our babies. Well, I tried to call Animal Services, but couldn't find it in any phone book. I finally found something that sounded right, but when I called the gentleman who answered said that they don't do that anymore. Apperently you can get in a lot of trouble if you are found careing for a wild animal, there's a $500 fine. He said the best thing you can do is put it under a bush and hope for the best. By the time I got off the phone the poor little fella was dead. It just felt so backwords to me to find out that people with a kind heart, who just want to help a little animal, would be punnished.
Anyway... I wanted to share some pictures I've taken this spring & summer. I tried to film the baby birds before they could fly with my camera, but I was zoomed way in and so it's shakey...
